High Artist Spotlight: Aishwarya Mankar

Aishwarya makes drawings that help feed children, graphics that help in Dyslexia screening, comics that make you giggle and work that causes social impact. Her illustrations are bold, whimsical and surely engaging to look at. Being an architect by education, she enjoys designing and illustrating most of the time. She’s worked on brands like Bosch India, Mahindra Lifespaces, The Plated Project and more. Her work has been featured in Rolling Stone India, Forbes India, Mid-Day Mumbai and many more. She’s enjoying her time as a creative consultant, working with companies, academies and initiatives.
We recently caught up with Aishwarya after High Art 2023 to learn more about her most recent inspirations:

Where do you find your creative inspiration?

Memories, experiences, dreams and moments that touch my soul.

Why do you do what you do?

I can’t imagine myself doing anything other than this. It fills my heart with joy.

What art/artist do you most identify with?

Artists like Van Gogh from the post Impressionist era and their representation of their inner selves.

What themes do you pursue the most?

My themes revolve around humour, inspirational, and emotional moments.

What role does an artist have in society?

An artist contributes to the society in a much bigger way than any other profession.

What is your artistic outlook on life?

Find inspiration in everyday life and always look for creativity.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Keep creating and keep developing your skills. Do not be afraid to experiment.

Do you listen to music while you are creating? If yes, share the song and artist that you listen to while creating art.

I generally listen to lo-if music in a way that helps me relax and focus.

What's the best thing about being an artist?

That you get to keep creating everyday and for most days, it doesn’t feel like work.

What is your dream project?

To work on Oscar Winning/award winning movie projects or animations.
