High Artist Spotlight: BBubblegem

Vienne is a digital artist from the Philippines, who goes by the nickname, which is derived from her second name, Gem.
BBubblegem began her artistic journey with traditional mediums like graphite, charcoal, oil pastels, and paints. But she soon discovered the endless possibilities of digital art. Her artistic style is a combination of minimalism and semi-realism, and she enjoys exploring various techniques and software to create her art. Vienne is a fan of video games, animated films, and K-Dramas where she draws inspiration from the different worlds and characters. Despite being an engineering student, she has maintained her passion for art.

Where do you find your creative inspiration?

Vienne Balasa finds her creative inspiration in the freedom and unpredictability of life and its many challenges.

Why do you do what you do?

She is inspired by the everyday moments that often go unnoticed. She aims to capture these fleeting moments and emotions in her work.

What art/artist do you most identify with?

She identifies most with Vincent Van Gogh and his expressive use of color and texture.

What themes do you pursue the most?

Vienne often pursues themes of nature, love, and the human experience, depicting them in a way that bridges the gap between reality and imagination.

What role does an artist have in society?

She believes that artists have the power to challenge societal norms, inspire change, and provide a unique perspective on the world.

What is your artistic outlook on life?

Vienne views life as a canvas, where every experience adds a new layer of color, texture, and depth.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

She would advise her younger self to never doubt her abilities and to always trust in the process of creation.

What's the best thing about being an artist?

The best thing about being an artist, according to Vienne, is the ability to express oneself without boundaries and to connect with others on a deep emotional level.

What is your dream project?

Her dream project would be to create a large-scale mural that brings together different communities and celebrates unity in diversity.
