High Artist Spotlight: Bowen Bramwell

Bowen Bramwell is a professional illustrator based out of San Diego, CA. He specializes in telling “Soul Stories” where he tells people’s life stories through subconscious symbolism. Having overcome homelessness and addiction, he seeks to eventually tell the stories of the homeless and addicted full-time.
We recently caught up with Bowen after High Art 2022 to learn more about his most recent inspirations:

Where do you find your creative inspiration?
My life experiences, psychedelics, other artists, the occult, music, pain, joy, love, etc.

Why do you do what you do?
Because I love it.

What art/artist do you most identify with?
Van Gogh

What themes do you pursue the most?
The occult, the esoteric, nonduality, good vs evil, masculine vs feminine, fantasy, the hero’s journey, jungian psychology

What role does an artist have in society?
To lead people to the next phase of consciousness. The artists that were ahead of their time were the ones to usher in the next phase of humanity.

What is your artistic outlook on life?
As within, so without. As above, so below. The beauty that is in my external world, is the same beauty that already exists within me.

What advice would you give to your younger self?
Just have fun man.

What's the best thing about being an artist?
Freedom

What is your dream project?
To Tell the life stories of the homeless full time to raise awareness for their situation, and to donate a portion of the profits to them for letting me tell their stories.
