High Artist Spotlight: Chrischanjan

Chrischanjan is a young, aspiring artist who started his career in 2020. He was based in the Philippines and graduated as a civil engineer. While working as an engineer, his passion to draw grows, and he continues his art career by improving himself and accepting commissions. He loves to design and draw things from my imagination. He also plays strategy online games and traditional mind-related games and puzzles, including chess and sudoku. He is an active and joyful person who always shares his thoughts with his friends and family.
He creates vibrant cartoons and artwork in the anime style, applying a digital arts technique to the majority of his works. Initially, he started with tangible art materials, focusing on portraits and posters. As technology advanced, he discovered graphics tablets and transitioned into using them. His mother, an engineer and talented artist, inspired him to pursue a career in art. Additionally, he drew inspiration from Stan Lee's Marvel Comics universe, which the company has created over the years. Another source of inspiration for him was Oda's production of One Piece, which has won numerous awards on a global scale. In addition, anime, manga, and manhwa materials inspire him to create their own stories with their own drawings that they hope to share with the world and leave as their legacy in the future. Today, he is constantly exploring different styles to find the best art style suitable for him and his future works.
We recently caught up with Chrischanjan after High Art 2023 to learn more about his most recent inspirations:

Where do you find your creative inspiration?

As an artist, my creative inspirations come from the environment around me, the people I interact with, and the experiences I go through.

Why do you do what you do?

I love making art because it lets me express my emotions, thoughts, and ideas in a way that words cannot.

What art/artist do you most identify with?

Creative Artist

What themes do you pursue the most?

As an artist, the themes that I pursue the most are nature, human emotions, and the beauty of everyday life.

What role does an artist have in society?

As an artist, my goal is to create artwork that resonates with people, sparks conversations, and evokes emotions.

What is your artistic outlook on life?

My outlook on life is heavily influenced by my experiences, beliefs, and the world around me. Through my art, I aim to capture the essence of these elements and share them with others.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

I would like to tell my younger self to take art seriously and to never give up on your dreams, no matter how challenging they may seem.

Do you listen to music while you are creating? If yes, share the song and artist that you listen to while creating art.

Yes, I listen to "Kill the Panic", "The Best Time", and "Hard" by Infraction.

What's the best thing about being an artist?

The best thing about being an artist is the ability to bring your imagination to life and share it with the world.

What is your dream project?

My wildest dream project is to be able to launch my own art exhibit showcasing all of my works.
