High Artist Spotlight: Edwin Perales Gonzales

Edwin Perales Gonzales was born on September 12, 1969, in Lima, Peru. Although he is a talented graphic designer, illustrator, and cartoonist he is a self-proclaimed full-time procrastinator. He also plays guitar and likes blues, country, and instrumental surf.
We recently caught up with Edwin after High Art 2022 to learn more about his most recent inspirations:
Where do you find your creative inspiration?
Music, books, stories
Why do you do what you do?
Something inside calls me to do that, and when I do it I feel very good
What art/artist do you most identify with?
Alberto Vargas, Rudolph Belarski, Donald Roller
What themes do you pursue the most?
Humorous in every way
What role does an artist have in society?
I think they should play an important role, but sometimes they are not valued
What is your artistic outlook on life?
Laugh and try to live happily, well and without harming anyone. Life is too short.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Take a risk and don't be afraid
