High Artist Spotlight: Gyong
Gyong is an illustrator from Indonesia. His art is based on freehand drawing using pen, ink and watercolors, and has since transitioned into digital drawing & coloring. He is also an enthusiast of cannabis, and most of his personal drawings have a cannabis theme.
We recently caught up with Gyong after High Art 2022 to learn more about his most recent inspirations:
Where do you find your creative inspiration?
daily activity, meditation, contemplation
Why do you do what you do?
i am freelance illustrator at night, sitting my kids in day...life is good

What themes do you pursue the most?
of course about cannabis & fantasies, sci fie and funny horror
What role does an artist have in society?
to give much inspiration, imagination, spirit, awakening, & opening society minds.
What is your artistic outlook on life?
for me, art has an important role in life in representing ideas, freedom, inspiration, freedom of thought & imagination, expressing emotions & ideas in a fantastic way
What advice would you give to your younger self?
i should be live without chemical substances, to be more awaked & focus on my art carrier, and change my life now. i wish.

What's the best thing about being an artist?
doing what i love to do
What is your dream project?
making huge drawing about cannabis for posters, banners or any printing media & mural, to support legalizing marijuana on countries were prohibiting marijuana for medical or recreation.
