High Artist Spotlight: Jeremy Ashbourne

Jeremy Moder, also known as Jeremy Ashbourne, is a Jamaican/Austrian musician and visual artist born in 1986. He has enjoyed success in various aspects of the music industry, as a composer/producer of film music, corporate/industrial music & commercial music, as a music educator both privately, and at the music university in Kingston Jamaica. He has been a performer and a promoter of live music events in Jamaica, and a sound engineer. His expressions and endeavors as a visual artist began to seriously take root about five years ago. He has recently stepped out of his woodshed with a number of abstract paintings, surrealist photographs and digital designs.

What role does an artist have in society?
The artist can be a messenger of high vibrational energy and information that can activate and blossom conscious awareness in any individual, inspiring in them a connection to life and the present moment while also evoking relatable feelings of the experience of life that may result in life changing outlooks and activities.

What is your artistic outlook on life?
Positive. If we are all of creation, from creation, then is not the act of creating in endless ways a divine way to honor the life we've been given and the energies and powers that brought us here?

What advice would you give to your younger self?
Know your power, you're more amazing that you're giving yourself credit for, you are becoming, just do it and put it out.

Do you listen to music while you are creating? If yes, tell us your favorite song and artist.
Sometimes. As a musician doing art is a way of decompressing from life a career musician so sometimes I create visually in silence. But other times I enjoy listening to jazz and music with a lot of improvisation, to tap into the subconscious network of perception.

What's the best thing about being an artist?
Creativity is a infinite energy that needs not be limited to any one form of expression. So interacting and experimenting with all the ways it can manifest is one of the supreme joys of life.

What is your dream project?
Merging music, visual arts and mushrooms and herb in a high vibe celebration of life, in a paradise location in Jamaica.
