High Artist Spotlight: Kat Hamilton
Kat is a mixed media artist and instructor and a mum to 4 young children. She’s currently residing in Brisbane, Australia. Her love for painting resurfaced in 2012 after having her first child. Art for her was a way to have her identity back after taking care and putting all her energy into another beautiful being. Since then, creating has allowed her to give time for herself to calm and reflect on how she is bringing up her children and to be a better mother to them. After having gotten her computer engineering degree and working in the IT industry for 15 years, she realised that that wasn’t for her and creating was what she was meant to do. But over time as she started teaching, she also realised that her goal wasn't just something for herself, she also had a desire to teach others who were like her to find their creative self and to flourish as an artist. She loves hearing feedback about how creating has changed another’s life and has made them happy.
