High Artist Spotlight: Kate Blagodatskikh

Kate Blagodatskikh is an artist from Moscow, Russia. In 2021 she graduated with honors specializing in graphic design. She works with mixed media, but her favorite medium that she uses are watercolor, oil, pastel, and digital. Her creativity is one of the ways of unobtrusive communication with the world, a form of meditation. Art for her is an opportunity to break out of routine, an opportunity for joy, an opportunity for experiences, an opportunity to look and see a little differently, this is an attempt to convey moods and sensations, elusive and inexpressible vibes.
We recently asked Kate some questions about her inspirations:

Q: Where do you find your creative inspiration?
A: I find creative inspiration in the smallest details. Now light from window hit the surface in the morning. Or speckles of dust that can be seen in it. There are so many things like that, that can influence the idea of next artwork or be the part the one that I'm currently work on. And also, just stories from people or books that can give the idea of an artwork.

Q: Why do you do what you do?
A: I always had keen to do something creative in many forms, not only art. But art give me opportunity to see the world differently, seeing details that I would ignored if I wasn't persuading the life of being an artist.

Q: What art/artist do you most identify with?
A: As a whole I mostly get inspiration from artist from Renaissance artists: Sandro Botticelli, Titian, Caravaggio, etc.

Q: What role does an artist have in society?
A: I think that the role of an artist in society is to convey the beauty and emotional state of a person.

Q: What is your artistic outlook on life?
A: I, as an artist, try to see the positive in everything, but as a person I always try to support and help whoever needs it.

Q: What advice would you give your younger self?
A: Don't be afraid to challenge yourself, try to reach the next goal instead of standing in one place.
