High Artist Spotlight: Nia Genestar

Nia Genestar is a young artist from Catalonia, Spain. Her work is very diverse: she loves to work with a more psychedelic aspect where strange characters and bright colors stand out, but she also enjoys painting gouache and pastel abstract landscapes full of color.
We recently caught up with Nia after High Art 2023 to learn more about her most recent inspirations:

Where do you find your creative inspiration?
In nature

Why do you do what you do?
I love to share my colorful perspective of the world through my art.

What art/artist do you most identify with?
David Hockney

What themes do you pursue the most?
Nature, landscapes and psychedelic compositions

What role does an artist have in society?
To create emotions

What is your artistic outlook on life?
Art gives me peace when I need it and it’s a way to express my inner world.

What advice would you give to your younger self?
Don’t stop drawing and don’t compare yourself with others.
