High Artist Spotlight: Norman Duenas

Norman Duenas is a Philippine-born and California-based graphic artist. He currently explores the nature of existence in relation to mortality, time and space, dreams, and memories through surreal illustration and poetry.

Q: Where do you find your creative inspiration?

A: "From listening to music, writing poems, memories/past experiences, dreams/nightmares, emotions, reading wide array of books/articles, random thoughts, surrealist art."

Q: Why do you do what you do?

A: "It's a way for me to express myself and to inspire others."

Q: What art/artist do you most identify with?

A: "Surrealist art."

Q: What role does an artist have in society?

A: "To offer a more open-minded perspective, create an escape, and reflect on the current state of the world through art. "

A: "Your passion and imagination will bring your life to a higher place of existence."

A: "Embrace your uniqueness. Never compare yourself to others."
