High Artist Spotlight: Oniria Hernandez

A Natural Cannabis High Art award winning Mexican illustrator, Oniria Hernandez work primarily in mixed media. She currently likes making illustrations in black ink and traditional brush and nibs. In 2016, Oniria was a winner of the High Art Contest and again in 2018. In her work she tries to share surreal realms where the imagination runs free, where the heart is, where the soul is, and where the fun is.
We recently asked Oniria some questions about her inspirations:

Q: Where do you find your creative inspiration?
A: "I often get inspiration after seing the artworks of the great masters like Leonardo da Vinci, and the work of other contemporary artists too like Alex Grey."

Q: Why do you do what you do?
A: "I like drawing what the eye of the imagination can see."

Q: What art/artist do you most identify with?
A: "I think my artwork can be associated with Lowbrow art and a bit with the japanese comic book style."

Q: What role does an artist have in society?
A: "The artist for me is that person capable of transferring to others their own state of consciousness and feelings. An artist can inspire the viewer to explore the worlds within their minds."

Q: What is your artistic outlook on life?
A: "All ideas that come from the world of imagination are beautiful, the job of the artist is to make them seem real. "

A: " I've always dreamed to do a full color comic book with crazy adventures and monsters.  "
