High Artist Spotlight: Sebasebi
Self-taught, Sebastian was born in the city of Rosario, Argentina in 1981.From an early age he has his first contact with art through an uncle-artist, who guides him in different techniques.During his adolescence, he specializes in the career of advertising drawing where he obtains his high school degree.In the following years he continues his artistic exploration working in goldsmith workshops, in clothing design and silkscreen printing techniques, without ever stopping painting for pleasure.It is not until his twenty-eight years that he decides to intensify his artistic search and devote all his time and energy exclusively to painting and digital art.Influenced by surrealism, Art-nouveau and impressionism Seb develops his own language to convey his passion for human emotions and nature.
We recently caught up with Sebasebi after High Art 2022 to learn more about his most recent inspirations:
Where do you find your creative inspiration?
Inspiration is everywhere, things show themselves, you just have to know how to look.
Why do you do what you do?
because art is fundamental in my life

What art/artist do you most identify with?
I love the art deco and art Nouveau style, the fusion between art and nature is something that moves me. And right now I am in love with the work of James Jane and Andrew salgado.
What themes do you pursue the most?
In my work, nature, space and music always appear as central themes.
What role does an artist have in society?
I believe that the role of the artist is to move, to show society something in a way that takes it out of the everyday, that makes it think, that transports it to another place or time.
What is your artistic outlook on life?
To create, to be able to generate different worlds within oneself.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
never stop practicing.
