Fifth generation artist in her family, Sonia has always drawn and painted, and grew up surrounded by paints, ceramics, books and animals. She learned how to draw from her parents, and studied graphic design & illustration in the UK. She has worked as an artist since, doing commissions as well as her own surreal and peculiar paintings. In 2016 she started Drakula Approved, selling jewelry with miniature paintings. With an overactive imagination, she can draw inspiration from pretty much anything, but especially loves insects and strange creatures, things that usually get rejected or ignored by people, as well her own inner feelings regarding femininity, anxiety, joy to be alive, and the little demons on her shoulder.
