High Artist Spotlight: Vibhas Virwani

The content of Indian artist Vibhas Virwani's art is usually fiction that sometimes tells a story, and other times just an idea. His artwork wishes to make the viewer explore the vast spaces of the human imagination.
Fiction is a way of abstraction commonly used by artists, writers and other visionaries as it reveals, very subtly, what journeying into a person's mind might be like. Vibhas likes to paint fiction because it gets the cog wheels running as he boards a whole new train of thought. It has the ability to take you away from the troubles of the real world as you get immersed in it . In effect, this visual communication can dissolve into the subconscious mind and play out direct consequences through the conscious mind in the here-and-now !

We recently caught up with Vibhas to learn more about his inspirations:

-

Q: Where do you find your creative inspiration?

A: "Nature and other artists"

-

Q: Why do you do what you do?

A: "Fiction is a way of abstraction commonly used by artists, writers and other visionaries as it reveals, very subtly, what journeying into a person’s mind might be like. I like to explore fiction visually because it gets the cog wheels running as I board whole new trains of thought. Fiction has the ability to take you away from the troubles of the real world as you get immersed in it. The practice of Delving visually in and out of the worlds of fiction gives one the ability to consciously choose the domain of their own thoughts, i.e. the practice of "Sadhana". Since our time in this life is finite, I want to make it count and use the power of fiction towards creativity."

-

Q: What art/artist do you most identify with?

A: "Sparth, Andrew Jones, Jesse Van Dijk, Simon Stålenhag"

-

Q: What role does an artist have in society?

A: "Everyone is an artist in my opinion actually, so in essence society is made up of artists."

-

Q: What is your artistic outlook on life?

A: "Art provides that ability to weed out the positive from the negative in every aspect of life."

-

Q: What is your dream project?

A: "Art direction for a mainstream ultra utopian (realism) science fiction movie that makes it as big as the matrix."
