High Artist Spotlight: Vikita.Paints

Viktoriia is a Russian watercolor artist living in Argentina. She moved to Argentina 6 years ago and immigration threw her to the ocean of the loneliness and childhood traumas where she was digging deep and where she found her inner child who always loved to paint. And her reunion with Art happened and she started her way without an art education but using her intuition. In the start, she was in love with magical children stories and she illustrated two children books. First was called “Hopes and dreams” of Linnea Wastberg and it was published in USA in 2019. And the second one was “Goodbye Mr Firefly” of Riana Inger and it was published in Zimbabwe in 2020. Then she felt that she needed some growth in her Art and she decided to finish painting for children because It were a lot of limitations there.
Now she is creating my own magic world and showing her admiration to a woman’s nature and body in her Art. Painting details - is her superpower, it’s her favorite part of the work. She is inviting you to leave the real world behind you and to travel to one magic space, full of emotions and details. She participated in an international watercolor festival “UrbinoInAcquerello” in Italy un 2019. She had an exposition of her paintings in the gallery “Fulle” and in the art space “Korova” in Buenos Aires in 2023.
We recently caught up with Vikita.Paints after High Art 2023 to learn more about her most recent inspirations:
-

Where do you find your creative inspiration?

Usually, I feel like somebody is guiding me while I’m painting. May be it’s my higher self. Or may be I’m just a channel for some other beings. I don’t hear any voices and I don’t see things, but there is always a feeling of what and how I need to paint.

Why do you do what you do?

I feel like I’m just in the start of my way, where my final destination is to give something big to the World of Art and to people. I feel like Art - is my mission. I’m not myself when I’m not painting. And when I do, I’m in peace and in balance.

What art/artist do you most identify with?

I’m absolutely in love with the surrealism. Ellen Sheidlin inspires me a lot.

What themes do you pursue the most?

Mystic of the feminine nature, things which doesn’t exist or my own view on common things.

What role does an artist have in society?

Artist is the one who can speak with your soul without saying a word. Art can influence our outlook, our mood, relationships with other people and with ourselves.

What is your artistic outlook on life?

There is always more then we can see.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

You don’t need to wear masks, just be yourself, because you are ALREADY perfect. You are the most important person in your life. I love you.

Do you listen to music while you are creating? If yes, share the song and artist that you listen to while creating art.

What's the best thing about being an artist?

To touch people’s souls. The most beautiful thing for me is to share my Art with other people.

What is your dream project?

My project for the nearest future is to create oracle or metaphorical cards. My biggest dream project is to heal souls through my Art.
