High Artist Spotlight: Yellowhit

Yellowhit is a freelance illustrator based in Jakarta. He started seriously studying at an illustration course in Jakarta, Carrot Academy. From there, he had many amazing experiences learning watercolor, digital painting, murals, and even making patterns for New York Fashion Week in 2020 with 2madison Gallery.

Where do you find your creative inspiration?
Movies and comics

Why do you do what you do?
whatever I do, it definitely has to be done

What art/artist do you most identify with?
i really like Isa Indra Permana and Muklay's art style

What themes do you pursue the most?
togetherness, personal power and pop culture are the themes that I pursue the most

What role does an artist have in society?
artist has a role as a messenger in society

What is your artistic outlook on life?
a colorful life like a billboard ad starts with messy sketches and long and complicated briefs

What advice would you give to your younger self?
I will tell my young self to keep trying and don't be afraid to fail

Do you listen to music while you are creating? If yes, tell us your favorite song and artist.
I usually listen to lo fi music while working or Japanese songs because I like anime even though I don't know what it means

What's the best thing about being an artist?
Being an artist means that we can make ideas and inspirations come true, they can be seen in full color on canvas

What is your dream project?
create a lot of digital illustration assets that many people download
