High Artist Spotlight: Srba

Srba was born 1954 in the village Batrovci ( Serbia ). In 1977, he graduated the Electrical Engineering College. He worked as an Еngineer and as a Тeacher in the High Technical school. He us a self educated freelance cartoonist and illustrator.
Srba has been drawing cartoons from 1978 and has published in Yugoslav papers and magazines. He has designed rock record covers and wrote lyrics for rock songs.
In 1993 he published "Cook Book for Kids" ( lyrics and illustrations ).
In 1998 he illustrated a second book and in  2004 he passed the MENSA test with and IQ of 152.

We recently asked Srba some questions about his inspirations:

Q: Where do you find your creative inspiration?

A: "All around me, and within myself."

Q: Why do you do what you do?

A: "Because of personal satisfaction and the feeling of freedom during the creation process."

Q: What art/artist do you most identify with?

A: "There is no one artist, but if I have to single one out, it is Jean Giraud - Moebius; although my works bear the least resemblance to his!"

Q: What role does an artist have in society?

A: "Unfortunately, in today's society, it seems to me, more and more the role of the king's court jester."

Q: What is your artistic outlook on life?

A: "Cooperation with inspiration."

Q: What advice would you give your younger self?

A: "Don't waste time on others."
